Seven Marion cross-country runners competed Thursday at the Swather Special in Hesston.
?There were almost 900 runners at the meet yesterday, and there was great competition,? coach Rebecca Hofer said. ?There were 50 high school teams from all over the state and from different sized schools, 1A to 6A, teams we don?t see anywhere but the Hesston meet.
?I am very proud of those who ran.?
Runners were grouped by age classification for each race. The results reflect finishes among runners in Class 1-2-3A. The top 20 finishers in each race medalled.
Timothy Knolla paved the way in the senior boys? race with an eighth-place finish in 18:32. Jared Hague came in 19th in 19:36, setting a new PR.
For the junior boys, Quin?ton Hett placed 26th in 21:32.
Seth Savage paved the way in the freshman boys? race with a 31st-place finish in 23:16, followed by Tay?lor Fahey (35th, 23:52). Both set new PRs.
As a team, the Warrior boys placed 16th among 19 schools.
Two sophomores competed for the Warrior girls:?McKenzee Remmers placed 14th in 17:31.65, and Brittany Hett came in 39th (22:42.86, new PR).
Coming?The Warriors will run at the Peabody meet Thursday. The girls? race is set to begin at 4:15 p.m., followed by the boys at 4:40 p.m.
