Three Trojans feted for CKL volleyball

Three members of the state-qualifying Hillsboro volleyball team received all-league recognition in the inaugural year of the Central Kansas League.

Tena Loewen, a 5-foot, 10-inch sophomore, was a first-team pick at outside hitter. Allie Faul, a 5-7 senior, was a second-team choice as a setter, and Krista Reimer, a 5-10 junior, received honorable mention at outside hitter.

Brandy Mader of Nickerson and Aubrey Hoover of Pratt were the only unanimous all-league picks by the CKL coaches.

The Trojans, who finished in a three-way tie for second place in the CKL behind Pratt with a 7-2 mark, finished the season at 31-12, including a 1-2 mark at the Class 3A tournament in Salina.
