Tabor inks three for ?07

Women?s Basketball?Haley Parsley, Crowell, has signed a letter of intent to play women?s basketball at Tabor College for the 2007-08 season.

Coach Shawn Winter said the team is ?excited that (Parsley) has decided to join our basketball program at Tabor.?

?Haley has had a lot of success in high school and we look forward to her contributing to our basketball program here at Tabor over the next four seasons,? Winter added.

During her freshman season, Parsley, a 6-foot-0 forward, earned all-district first-team honors.

During her sophomore and junior seasons, she was feted as a second-team all-district player. Her team finished the season as bi-district champions during both campaigns.

In her senior season, her team won a third consecutive bi-district championship and added a win in the area championship before being eliminated in the regional finals.

Parsley was named the district?s most valuable player in addition to receiving recognition from the Key Stone All-Star Classic and the All-Region Texas Six-man Coaches Association.


Football
?Dustin Brooks, of Cassville, Mo., and Michael Garcia, of Del Rio, Texas, have signed letters of intent to play football at Tabor College this fall.

Head coach Mike Gottsch said ?(Brooks) played for Tabor in 2004. He contributed on a fine football team, and we are pleased that he is returning to Tabor to complete his degree and compete for the Bluejays.?

Brooks, a 6-feet-0, 215-pound tight end and linebacker lettered for the Bluejays that season.

Garcia, a 6-0, 180-pound quarterback, passed for 1,800 yards and earned all-district honors in 2006. He was a team captain during his junior and senior years.

?Michael Garcia will be a natural fit at Tabor,? Gottsch said. ?(Garcia) possesses very good leadership skills and demonstrates solid quarterbacking skills.?
