Snow sets 2 CGHS records

Canton-Galva sophomore Maddie Snow bettered her own school record in the 400 in Class 2A at the state track meet, turning in a time of 1:00.02 to earn the bronze medal. Snow also finished 10th in the 200 and 12th in both the 100 and the triple jump.Canton-Galva’s two state qualifiers, sophomore Maddie Snow and freshman Katie Fiedler, competed in a combined seven events in Class 2A at the state track and field championship. Each brought home a medal.

“I could not be more proud of these two girls for being state qualifiers in all of their regional events and for their performances at their first state track meet,” coach Tina McMannis said.

Snow trimmed 2.38 seconds off her own school record in the 400 with a time of 1:00.02, good for third. Snow finished 10th in the 200 in a personal-best 26.91, and placed 12th in both the 100 (13.22) and the triple jump (33-51⁄4). Her triple jump mark broke her own school record.

Meanwhile, Fiedler earned the sixth-place medal in the 100 (12.92). She finished ninth in the 200 in a personal-best 26.88, and 10th in the long jump (15-21⁄4).
