In its season-opening debut, the Marion track and field team turned in two first-place finishes at its home invitational Friday.
Pacing the Warrior boys, Bryce Shults won the pole vault with a vault of 12 feet. He finished sixth in the 300 hurdles (45.89 seconds).
Jack Schneider was second in both the 100 (11.97) and the 200 (23.98).
Tyler Palic was second in the shot put (45-6), fourth in the javelin (137-8) and fifth in the discus (123-5).
Austin Neufeld finished in a four-way tie for second place in the pole vault (11-6).
Tyler Arocha placed third in both the 200 (24.41) and the 400 (53.86), while Noah Dalrymple was third in the high jump (5-8).
Colin Williams finished fifth in the 800 (2:16.69) and sixth in the 1,600 (5:03.99).
Kolton Brewer, Shults, Aaron Riggs and Schneider were fifth in the 4×100 relay (48.33), while Arocha, Dalrymple, Williams and Schneider were fifth in the 4×400 (3:52.56).
Zachary Stuchlik placed sixth in the triple jump (38).
Meanwhile, Marissa Jacobson led the girls by winning the 300 hurdles (49.80). She placed second in both the long jump (17) and the triple jump (35-91⁄2) and was fourth in the 200 (28.03).
Grace Winter and Michaela Regnier were part of a three-way tie for second place in the pole vault (7).
Emmy Hess finished fourth in the 100 hurdles (17.23) and sixth in the long jump (15-51⁄2).
Emily Hutchinson, Alfwenna Meyer, Hess and Sam Richmond were fourth in the 4×100 (56.47).
Jazmin Lewis finished in a three-way tie for fifth place in the high jump (4-6), while Meggan Frese was sixth in the 3,200 (14:14.00).
