Seven members of Marion’s 14-7 softball team have received recognition from Heart of America coaches.
Three Warriors were named to the first team.
Senior infielder Kourtney Hansen led the team in batting average among those playing more than two games this season. Hansen batted .556 (45-for-81) over 21 games, including two doubles and one home run. She led the team in hits, and batted in 17 runs.
Junior outfielder Corrina Crabb batted .349 (29-for-83) in 21 games this season and drove in 15 runs.
Freshman designated player Chisholm Waner batted .378 (28-for-74) in 21 games, including eight doubles and one triple. She had 25 RBIs.
Junior utility Tori Shults was Marion’s only second-team honoree. She batted .345 (19-for-55) in 17 games, including two doubles and two triples. She had 13 RBIs.
Three Warriors received honorable mention.
Senior infielder Lindsey Sigel batted .344 (22-for-64) in 18 games this season, including four doubles and two triples. She had 22 RBIs.
Freshman infielder Laura Savage batted .361 (26-for-72) in 21 games, including 10 doubles, three triples and one home run. She led the team with 26 RBIs.
Senior outfielder Alli Molleker batted .338 (23-for-68) in 21 games, including one triple. She had 23 RBIs.
Marion was 13-3 in Heart of America league play. The Warriors’ season ended with a 2-1A regional semifinal loss to Hillsboro.
