Sechrist named NCCAA cross-country athlete of the week

Hillsboro graduate Emily Sechrist was named the National Christian College Athletics Association women’s cross-country student-athlete of the week following a fifth-place finish at the Central Oklahoma Land Run Sept. 3. She crossed the finish line in 18 minutes, 48.5 seconds to lead her team to a first-place finish.

Sechrist is a sophomore at Oklahoma Baptist. Last season, she earned recognition as the Great American Conference cross-country Freshman of the Year and was a first-team, all-conference selection.
