?On Saturday, the Cougars defeated Wakefield (25-19, 18-25, 25-22) and White City (25-23, 16-25, 25-16) but lost to Sunrise (10-25, 17-25), Sacred Heart (7-25, 22-25) and Clay Center (11-25, 9-25) at the Herington Tournament. The 2-3 showing advanced Centre?s record to 7-13 for the season.

Against Hope on Sept. 22, the Cougars cruised to a 25-16, 25-19 win behind four kills by Allison Shields. Shields had eight kills in a 25-12, 26-24 win over White City.

Goessel

?The Bluebirds went 1-1 in league play Sept. 22, falling to Moundridge (13-25, 25-21, 21-25) and beating Ell-Saline (25-18, 25-14). Goessel's record is 4-3 (league) and 14-6 (overall).
