Philpott chosen for all-star game

Clayton PhilpottClayton Philpott, a 2016 graduate of Peabody-Burns High School, has been selected to participate in an 8-Man All-Star football game Saturday in Beloit with the Division I East squad. Game time is set for 10 a.m. During Philpott’s senior campaign, he recorded 1,092 rushing yards and scored 19 touchdowns. He averaged 156 yards per game. On defense, Philpott recorded 52 tackles, including 12 tackles for a loss. His sophomore year, Philpott set two school records for sacks in a game (71⁄2) and sacks in a season (151⁄2). Over his career at Peabody-Burns, Philpott rushed for 2,399 yards and scored 40 touchdowns. Philpott is the son of Jim and Christina Philpott. He plans to pursue a career in firefighting.
