Taking third place in its home-opening tournament, the Peabody-Burns volleyball team started their season 3-2.
At the Peabody-Burns Round Robin Invitational Tournament, the Warriors defeated Hartford 25-17 and 25-10., Central Burden 25-11 and 25-17 and Burrton losing the first set 25-18, then taking the final two 25-20 and 25-17.
PBHS fell to Chase County 25-19 and 25-14 and Burlingame 27-25 and 25-15.
Burlingame finished 5-0 and took the tournament championship. Chase County (4-1) was second followed by PBHS, Burrton (2-3), Hartford (1-4) and Central Burden (0-5).
Burlingame beat Chase County 15-17, 19-25 and 25-23, Hartford 25-12 and 25-17, PBHS 27-25 and 25-15, Burrton 23-25 25-9 and 25-20 and Central Burden 25-11 in both sets. Peabody-Burns will be back in action Sept. 7 when they host Hope.
