PBHS runners take second at Halstead behind Topham

The Peabody-Burns High School boys? cross country team placed second overall with 88 points at Halstead Thursday.

The Warriors were led by Aaron Topham (first, 17:57). Sheldon Wiebe (13th, 19:06), Jacob Simmonds (15th, 19:08), Josh Klarmann (19th, 19:28), Curtis Frederick (40th, 20:33), Matt Hiebert (43rd, 20:57) and Steffen Pospeich (53rd, 21:31) followed.

Topham said ?the girls were not able to compete as a team but they all brought home medals in their races.?

Lauren Pickens (fifth, 17:30) paced the PBHS girls.

Peabody-Burns will run at Chapman, where a team competition is not held.
