Bina was among 24 players from across Kansas selected to play in the match that featured the state?s top seniors. Below, Bina sets up for one of the team-high 16 digs she recorded for the Blue team during the five-set match, which the Blue team won, 3-2. Ready to assist is teammate Emilee Dechant of Hutch Trinity. Bina, named the Class 2A Player of the Year after the Trojans won the state title last fall, was a starter on the Hillsboro teams that won Class 3A titles in 2011 and 2012. During the evening Bina was announced as the winner of the Flo Hyman Scholarship, which is based on financial need, collegiate volleyball plans, sportsmanship, leadership and volleyball promotion desire. Bina has signed to play with Butler Community College this fall. Other area connections with Saturday?s all-star match were Hillsboro coach Sandy Arnold, who received a certificate for reaching the 400-victory plateau during her career at HHS and Canton-Galva, and Goessel head coach Crysta Guhr, who represented Class 1A as an assistant coach for the Red team. In addition to Bina, the Central Kansas League was represented in the game by Hesston?s Ali Jost, who played for the Red team.
