She took first place and scored 20.0 team points for her Hillsboro team. Norstrom is one of two students who competes with Hillsboro since there is not a Canton-Galva high school team.

“I’m very proud of Taryn for her performance on Saturday. In all of her matches, she set the tone early on and was very dominate. She competed with a lot of confidence and did a lot of technical things very well,” said Coach Scott O’Hare. “She is so solid when she competes like that.”

Norstrom (152) competed against Sierra Nigh of McPherson High School for the first round and pinned her about a minute and half into the round.

She won round 2 by pinning Rachel Taggart of Fredonia.

Round 3 was also won by Norstrom when she pinned Salor Peterson of McPherson High School.
