New coach Chris Sohm to lead CGHS boys’ hoops team

The Canton-Galva boys? varsity includes: back row (from left) Destin Nightengale, Tad Wedel, Codey Johnson, Tyler Clements, Bo Moddlemog and front row Taylor Myers and Bryant Baldwin.

The Canton-Galva boys? basketball team will be coached by Chris Sohm this season. Having graduated two starters from last year?s 6-14 season, and having seven returning lettermen, the Eagles will have to grasp Sohm?s system to climb in the standings.

?We lack size, but we are willing to work hard,? he said. ?Our biggest weakness will be trying to learn and adapt to a new system.?

Destin Nightengale, the team?s only returning senior, will be looked to for leadership on the court.

Juniors Bryant Baldwin and Codey Johnson, and three sophomores?Tad Wedel, Taylor Myers, and Tyler Clements?are the team?s top returners. They are joined by newcomers Bo Moddlemog, John Shearer and Nick Vogts.

The Eagles open their season at Herington Friday.
