MHS wrestlers 3-2 at Onaga

The Marion wrestling team went 3-2 at the Onaga Duals Friday.

Marion defeated Pleasant Ridge, 36-24, and Onaga, 54-18, then lost duals to Rock Creek, 51-30, and to Sabetha, 42-27. Marion concluded the day with a win over Doni­phan West.

Tyler Palic and Charlie Nordquist went undefeated for the day. Palic was 2-0 at 195 pounds, while Nordquist was 3-0 at 220.

Ethan Darnall (132) and Kolton Brewer (160) were 2-1, Todd Palic (170) was 1-3 and Jarret McLinden (285) was 1-2.

Rounding out the Warrior roster were Forest Slater (0-1, 106), Will Alleven (0-4, 113) and Brock Mitchell (0-5, 145).

“Tyler and Charlie had a great day for us,” coach Tyler McMichael said. “As a whole team, we had a bit of a rough day. We were missing a few guys due to illness and grades. We just need to get back into the practice room to refocus the guys and move forward from there.”

Coming—Marion will wrestle at Chase County Saturday. Matches are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m.
