Camille Christensen led Marion?s runners, placing fourth in 17 minutes, 47 seconds.
Amanda Richmond (18:13) finished seventh and Jaclyn DeForest (18:23) placed ninth.
Tacy Taylor (17th, 18:47), Brooke Johnson (18th, 18:48), Bridgett Lundy (28th, 19:40) and Lucy Collett (44th, 21:29) rounded out the varsity team.
As a team, Marion totaled 50 points and finished second to Smoky Valley with 45.
Wichita Collegiate (102), Halstead (108), Hillsboro (114) and Hesston (118) also fielded teams.
?I was pleased with the team placing?each team improved one place from last year,? coach Bethany Carlson said. ?It was great to see some teams that we haven?t seen all season.?
For the boys, Ryan Jones was the first Warrior to cross the finish line and placed sixth overall in 18:25. Louis Holt (18:43) also medaled, placing 10th.
Elliot Hett (21st, 19:18), Brady Hudson (32nd, 19:45), Isaac Hett (39th, 20:06), Brandon Meierhoff (48th, 20:31) and Michael Kirkpatrick (55th, 21:10) rounded out the varsity squad.
Marion placed fourth with 108 team points, finishing behind Sterling (40), Hillsboro (72) and Hesston (88), and ahead of seven other schools, including fifth-place Halstead (127) and sixth-place Lyons (155).
Both varsity teams now turn their attention to the regional meet to be held at El Dorado State Park on Saturday.
Joining them will be Chaparral, Belle Plaine, Garden Plain, Halstead, Hillsboro, Hutch?in?son Trinity, Bluestem, Medicine Lodge, Sedg?wick, Remington, Southeast of Saline, Wichita Collegiate, Wichita Independent and Wichita Trinity.
