Marion’s Tyler Palic dominates Class 3A state discus competition
Marion High School junior Tyler Palic begins his rotation during the discus competition of the Kansas State Track and Field Championship in Wichita on Friday morning. Palic qualified for the finals with a throw of 167 feet, 10 inches on his first attempt in his preliminary flight. In the finals he threw three out-of-bounds throws before launching his winning effort of 175-11 on his fifth attempt; he added a 175-2 throw on his final turn. Palic’s closest rival, Jace Ruder of Norton Community, placed second at 155-1.
