Marion?s Grif Case and Taylor Heidebrecht compete in statewide baseball game

Case, HeidebrechtMarion High School seniors Grif Case (left) and Taylor Heidebrecht represented the Warriors in the 2014 All-Star baseball game played Wednesday at Frank Myers Field on the campus of Kansas State University in Manhattan. All athletes selected to participate in the All-Star game were senior first-team all-state selections in their respective classes, ranging from Class 6A to Class 2-1A. Heidebrecht and Case were members of the Grey squad, which defeated the Maroon squad, 7-4. Heidebrecht started at first base, but moved to second in the ninth inning, while Case started in left field and also contributed in right field. Case and Heidebrecht are the first baseball athletes in school history to be named to the all-state first team.
