The Marion wrestling team placed second at the Hesston Invitational Saturday with 151 points behind Class 6A competitor Wichita West who scored 194.
Eight Warriors placed among the top three of their respective weight classes.
?The guys wrestled really well this weekend,? coach Chad Adkins said. ?All of our guys are getting better each week, and I believe we will continue to see new names placing for us all year long.?
Three Warriors won their weight class: Zac Lewman at 182 pounds, John Nordquist at 195 and Kyle Palic at 220.
?Kyle Palic also received an award for the most pins in the least amount of time,? Adkins said.
Three Marion wrestlers placed second:?Jarrett Johnson (106), Bryce Shults (120) and Adam Janzen (170).
Noah Albin (113) and Luke Steele (160) placed third.
?All of these guys that placed continue to get better technically each week,? Adkins said. ?We had several guys from this list place higher this week than they did last week. That is what we are striving for.?
Coming?Marion will co-host the Marion County Winter Duals with Hillsboro Friday. Matches begin at 3 p.m.
