Marion wins 2 gold medals at Beloit

The Marion track and field team competed at the Beloit Relays Friday.

The boys’ team earned two gold medals to highlight the event.

Tyler Palic won the Warrior boys’ only individual gold medal. He placed first in the discus with a throw of 165 feet.

Tyler Arocha, Zachary Stuchlik, Colin Williams and Jack Schneider won the 4×400 relay with a time of 3 minutes, 38.52 seconds.

Four Warriors finished second in their respective events: Palic in the shot put (47); Bryce Shults in the pole vault (13); Schneider in the 200 (22.92); and Williams in the 800 (2:07.7).

Schneider finished third in the 100 (11.26); Williams was fourth in the 1,600 (5:01.8); Kolton Brewer, Aaron Riggs, Austin Neufeld and Shults were fifth in the 4×100 (48.68); and Tyler Arocha was sixth in the long jump (18-113⁄4).

Meanwhile, Marissa Jacobson was the only Warrior girl to score points. She placed third in the long jump (16-2).

Hesston—A small contingent of Warriors competed at a CKTL meet Tuesday.

Charlie Nordquist paved the way by placing third in both the shot put (37 feet, 7 inches) and the discus (103-7). He was sixth in the javelin (112-4).

Meanwhile, Bethany Grimmett was sixth in the 3,200 (16 minutes, 34.6 seconds).

Coming—Marion will compete at Hesston Thursday at 4 p.m.
