Marion/Peabody Golf Team hits links at HOA tourney

The combined Marion/Peabody-Burns golf team competed at the Heart of America league tournament at Hesston Monday.

Max Caldwell paved the way for the Warriors by carding an 18-hole score of 101, good for 15th place among a field of 39 golfers.

Hap Waddell shot a 109 (20th), Koby Hett 119 (25th), Miles Olson 122 (28th) and Anderson Waddell 141 (37th).

As a team, the Warriors finished fifth with a score of 451 behind Sterling (350), Hutchinson Trinity (364), Berean Academy (381) and Sedgwick (416) and ahead of Inman (483) and Remington (515).

Coming—The Warriors were scheduled to host a Class 2A regional tournament Monday. Teams in addition to the Warriors included Inman, Sedgwick, Remington, Goessel, Hillsboro, Herington, Blue Rapids-Valley Heights, Rossville, Horton and Howard-West Elk.

The top five individual finishers not members of a qualifying team will advance to the Class 2A state tournament at Hesston May 20.
