The Marion/Peabody-Burns golf team competed in two locations for regionals May 14.
Max Caldwell represented Peabody-Burns at the Halstead Class 1A regional, where he qualified for state as an individual. His 18-hole score of 113 was good for 15th place among a field of 25 golfers. Central Christian’s Marshall Walton won with a 78.
Meanwhile, Marion golfers traveled to Hillsboro for a Class 2A meet.
Devin Soyez shot an 18-hole score of 114, good for 30th place among a field of 40 golfers. Hap Wadel shot a 128 (37th) and Tabor Workman 130 (39th). Salina-Sacred Heart’s Kameron Shaw won with a 64.
Coming—Caldwell was scheduled to compete Monday at the Class 1A state meet at Mariah Hills Golf Course in Dodge City.
