Marion golf travels to Hutchinson

The combined Marion/Peabody-Burns golf team competed at the Central Christian tournament in Hutchinson Monday.

“(It was a) very large meet with 14 schools attending,” coach Tod Gordon said. “Each golfer struggled on a couple holes, keeping them out of medal contingency.”

Devin Soyez paved the way for the Warriors, carding an 18-hole score of 111, good for 31st place among a field of 61 golfers. Max Caldwell shot a 114 (37th place), Koby Hett 114 (38th), Hap Waddell 126 (53rd), and Ethan Darnall 145 (60th).

As a team, the Warriors finished eight of nine with a score of 465. Central Christian won with 362.

Coming—The Warriors were scheduled to compete at Council Grove Monday and will compete at Newton Thursday.
