Marion baseball reaches many firsts on the way to second place

The Marion baseball team may have come up one win short of a Class 3A state championship in Manhattan this weekend, but this group of Warriors did accomplish many “firsts” for the local program: first outright league championship, first (and second) win in a state tournament, first state title game appearance, most wins in a season (23) and longest winning streak (18 games). For a full account of their tournament appearance, see Page 7.
