Hillsboro High School senior Tena Loewen signed a letter of intent Friday to play basketball and volleyball next year at Tabor College. The 5-foot-11 outside hitter was a first-team all-league performer in volleyball the past three years and a first-team all-state selection the past two seasons as she led the Trojans to consecutive Class 3A titles. During her four years as a starter, Hillsboro compiled a 142-31 record with four state appearances. In basketball, Loewen received all-league recognition all four seasons, including a place on the first team her final three. Loewen missed about half of her junior season with a knee injury, but the Trojans went to state all four years, finishing third the past three trips. The Trojans compiled an 85-24 record during that four-span. Seated with Loewen are her parents, Joanne and David Loewen. Standing are (from left) Shawn Reed, Tabor basketball coach; Nathan Hie?bert, HHS basketball coach; Sandy Arnold, HHS volleyball coach, and Amy Ratz?laff, Tabor volleyball coach.
