Hillsboro High School senior Preston Loewen signed a letter of intent April 20 to play basketball for Tabor College next year. The 6-foot-1 guard was a two-year starter for Hillsboro and received all-league honorable-mention recognition both years. This season, the Trojans won their Class 2A sub-state this spring and lost to Sacred Heart, the eventual 2A state champion, by one point in the quarterfinals. “We are happy to bring Preston into our Bluejay family,” said Micah Ratzlaff, Tabor head coach. “His ability to shoot the basketball will only get better at the next level, and the fact that he knows Tabor College well makes it a great fit.” Seated with Preston are his parents, Shelley and Wendell Loewen. Standing are (from left) Trojan assistant coach Demetrius Cox, Coach Ratzlaff and Trojan head coach Darrel Knoll.
