Lebo edges Centre twice Friday

The Centre High School basketball teams each took a close loss against Lebo Friday. The boys hung tough, forcing a 34-34 tie through three quarters before Lebo rattled off 19 points in the fourth to secure a 53-44 win.

James Weber led the Cougars with 12 points, but was held without a basket in the final frame. Trevor Troutt scored 10 points?eight in the second half, five in the fourth quarter.

The CHS girls fell by a 45-30 final tally, as a 9-2 Lebo run in the first quarter put the Cougars behind the eight ball.

Lebo led 17-8 at halftime and used a 17-11 run in the third quarter to put the game away. Leann Pankratz totaled 10 points.
