Lackey competes in all-star game

AddieHillsboro High School standout Addie Lackey signals a play for the Blue team as she brings the ball up the court during the first half of the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Game for girls Saturday in Mabee Arena on the campus of Kansas Wesleyan University in Salina. Lackey scored 11 points in the Blue team?s 82-75 win over the White team. Below, Lackey defends forward Kyrstie Miller of Holton, who will join Lackey at Emporia State University this season. Behind them, Blue head coach Antwain Scales of Wichita South offers encouragement. The former Trojan, who will be playing basketball at Emporia State this season, made three of four shots from the floor and sank all four of her free-throw attempts. During the evening, Hills?boro boys? coach Darrel Knoll was recognized for reaching 450 victories. Plaques marking longevity milestones were awarded to Alan Stahlecker of Centre for 10 years, Darren Schroeder of Peabody-Burns for 15 years and Roger Trimmel of Canton-Galva for 35 years.
