Julia Zeiner signs with Kansas State for for track and field

Julia Zeiner, Marion High School senior, signed a letter of intent Thursday to pursue track and field at Kansas State University next school year. She is the first female track and field athlete from MHS to sign with a Division I university. Zeiner is the defending Class 3A state champion in the long jump and triple jump, becoming the first multiple-event state champion at MHS since Gary Melcher won the discus and shot put in 1969. She is flanked by her parents, Ty and Janet Zeiner; behind her are her coaches, Grant and Deanna Thierolf.
