Hillsboro places several at meet

On Tuesday, April 16, Hillsboro hosted the CKTL meet. Six schools in all competed and Hillsboro came in second for both girls and boys.

For the field events, Jessica Saunders took first in discus throw at 118-05 and third in shot put at 34-09. Emersyn Funk took fifth in discus at 95-03.

Iris Klein placed first in the girls high jump while Kinsey Kleiner secured first in the long jump.

Addie Berens took first in the javelin throw with a distance of 117-06.

For running, Kinsey Kleiner placed third in the 100 meter dash while Eva Frantz placed second in the 400 meter dash. Tiffany Schale finished second in the girls 1600 meter run.

The boys also placed well in field events. Jared Janzen got first place in shot put at 45-00, and he took first in discus throw as well. Lane Flaming came in third at shot put and second in discus.

Carson Linnens got first place in the boys high jump and the triple jump. Josiah took first in the long jump and second in the triple jump.

Nate Hein took first in the pole vault at 12-00. Hein also took first in the 100 meter dash and the 200 meter dash.

Caleb Diener finished up second in both the 1600 meter run and the 800 meter run.

As we approach the midway point of our season we will be finishing our CKTL season and will have Invitational meets for the remainder of the season. We can now concentrate on those events we will be taking to League, Regional and State competition,” said Head Coach Dennis Boldt.

Coming – The Trojans competed at Halstead on Thursday and on Tuesday. They will have a home track meet at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26.
