Hillsboro, Marion well represented for MCAA all-league football picks

Hillsboro and Marion, two of the tri-champions of the MCAA Mid Division, were well represented on the all-league football team as selected by the league?s 12 coaches.

Hillsboro?s Ishmael Morris, who rushed for 1,366 yards, was picked for the first team as an offensive back, and Daniel Jost, with 45 receptions for 789 yards and 12 touchdowns, was a first-team pick at wide receiver.

Jost also was selected as a first-team defensive back and second-team kick returner, while Morris received honorable mention as a defensive back.

Meanwhile, Marion (6-3), had two defensive players selected for the first team. Nick Klenda was picked as a lineman and Brad Klenda as a linebacker.

On offense, Sheldon Boone was a second-team pick as a back, Nick Klenda was second team at tight end, Matt Thierolf second team on the line, and Parker Ash received honorable mention for his line play.

This was the first year coaches picked one all-league lineup for both divisions rather than a lineup for each division.
