The Hillsboro golf team placed third among the seven schools competing April 12 at the Sacred Heart Invitational in Salina.
The host team won the title with a score of 289, which was 73 strokes ahead of runner-up Hutchinson Trinity at 362. The Trojans followed at 377.
Elias Werth led Hillsboro with a score of 89, to place 14th among the 44 golfers. Elliot Ollenburger placed 17th with a 90, Avery Unruh was 25th at 96, Darian Ratzlaff 31st at 102 and Colin Settle 33rd at 103.
Sacred Heart’s golfers finished in consecutive order, starting with champion Grant Herrenbruck (70). High score among the six was a 79.
Coming—Hillsboro is scheduled to compete in tournaments at Sterling on Monday and at Hesston April 19.
