The Hillsboro golf team added two more strong performances to its resume by winning the nine-school Herington Invitational Thursday, and then placing second at the eight-school Hillsboro Invitational on Friday.
Competing on the home course, Elliot Ollenburger place third for the third tournament this season, this time shooting 90. The junior trailed the individual medalist, Michal Holada of Goessel, who shot an 84, and Dakota davis of Chapman who turned in an 85.
Completing Hillsboro’s top four roster were Elias Werth, who tied for 11th at 96, Joe Knoll, who tied for 13th at 97, and Carolin Roth who shot a 98, tying her for 16th.
Also competing for the varsity were Carson Herbel, who tied for 21st with a 102, and Colin Settle who tied for 26th at 107.
Herington—Postponed April 4 because of rain, the Trojans compiled a four-man team score of 368, edging Halstead by five strokes for the title.
Elliot Ollenburger once again led the Trojans with an 83, which was 11 strokes behind the individual medalist, Jake Huffaker of Southeast of Saline who shot a 72, and three strokes behind the runner-up, Michal Holada of Goessel with a 376.
Competing the Trojan team score were Elias Werth, tied for sixth with a 94, Carson Herbel, eighth with a 95 and Colin Settle, tied for ninth with a 96.
Also competing for Hillsboro were Caroline Roth, tied for 12th with a 98, and Joe Knoll, tied for 15th with a 99.
