Hillsboro?tennis kicks off season

The Hillsboro tennis team opened its competitive season March 31 at the Conway Springs Invitational.

Two of the three team members participated, and both went 0-3 for the day.

Jacob Isaac lost 8-1 to Jacob Winter of Conway Springs, 8-2 to Patrick Mun?sey of McPherson and 8-1 to Justin Preheim of Wichita Trinity.

Dakota Klein lost 8-1 to Kalton Alloway of Conway Springs, 8-2 to Trey Hett of McPherson and 8-1 to Grant Clapine of Wichita Trinity.

?Our guys made some nice shots and although, as sophomores, they have improved over last year, we still have many aspects of the game to work on,? coach Stuart Holmes said. ?We?ll continue to focus on improving every day in practice.?

Coming?The Trojans were scheduled to compete April 5 at the Smoky Valley Invita?tional, then will host the Hillsboro Invitational Thurs?day at the Sports Complex. Matches begin at 3 p.m. The Trojans will participate in the Sterling Invita?tional April 12.
