HHS wins at Halstead

The Hillsboro golf team finished with a team score of 343 to lead the field of eight schools competing at the Halstead Invitational May 2 at Wedgewood Country Club.

The Trojans won by 15 strokes over the runner-up, Sedgwick, at 358. Halstead followed with 363, Buhler 415, Burrton 421, Pratt 441, Nickerson 468 and Kingman 507.

Elliot Ollenburger led Hillsboro with an 18-hole score of 83, two strokes behind the individual medalist, Owen Gartner of Hal­stead. Elias Werth placed fourth at 85, Carson Herbel fifth at 87 and Caroline Roth sixth at 88 to round out the four-person team score.

Colin Settle placed 13th at 98 and Joe Knoll 14th at 98.

Coming—Hillsboro was scheduled to compete in the Central Kansas League tournament Tuesday at King­man. The regional tourna­ment will be May 15 at the Salina Municipal Golf Course.
