HHS sweeps Life Prep, Halstead

Hillsboro senior Sarah Jost hits for a point against Life Preparatory Academy of Wichita during their Sept. 12 match at Brown Gymnasium. The Trojans won easily, 25-6, 25-3, as all but one of Life Prep’s points came on serving errors by the Trojans. In their second match, Hillsboro had its hands full against Central Kansas League foe Halstead, but pulled out a dramatic 25-20, 25-27, 26-24 victory. The wins give Hillsboro a 2-1 record in the CKL and 7-8 overall. The Trojans were scheduled to compete Sept. 19 in a triangular at Nickerson against the Panthers and Douglass. Next Tuesday, the Trojans will host Hesston (13-1) and Kingman (14-0), two of the top teams in the CKL and ranked highly in Class 3A. Matches begin at 5 p.m. in Brown Gymnasium.
