HHS JV goes 1-1 to open home tournament

The Hillsboro boys? junior varsity team will play for third place this weekend after going 1-1 this past Saturday in the first day of the annual Hillsboro JV tournament.

Hillsboro opened with a 59-36 win over Haven with Harry Faber scoring 17, Kale Arnold 12 and Jesse Brown 10 for the Trojans.

In the second game of the day, Hillsboro dropped a 53-41 decision to Moundridge?s undefeated team. Arnold scored 12 and Tyler Proffitt 11 to pace HHS. Hillsboro, now 7-6 for the season, will play Berean for third place at noon Feb. 11.

Marion lost to Moundridge in the first round, 51-23, then beat Haven, 56-38. The Warriors will play Halstead for fifth place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
