HHS golf duo tops Quivera Heights at Sacred Heart Invitational

Hillsboro?s two-man team of Daniel Kunantaev and Justin Kent won their division title at the Sacred Heart Invitational golf tournament Friday at Salina.

Kunantaev and Kent, who also claimed top medalist honors with an 81 and 84, respectively, combined for a 165, which gave them an eight-stroke victory over Quivera Heights in the eight-school field. Hillsboro four-man team score was 361, good for third place behind Quivera Heights (353) and Marion (360).

Also competing for Hillsboro were Daniel Dick (98), gavin Serene (98), Jared King (101) and Jake Kenney (101).

For Marion, Luke Gordon (86), who placed fifth overall, combined with Jake Bredemeier (92) for a two-man score of 178. Also competing for Marion were Keith Jones (88), Landon Leiker (94), Lindsay Hett (103) and Olle Genfors (101).

Bennington?Daniel Kunantaev claimed the individual title at the Bennington Invitational on Tuesday, April 22.

The sophomore carded a 79 to win by six strokes over Keith Jones (85) and seven strokes over Luke Gordon (86), both of Marion. Hillsboro?s Justin kent was fourth with an 87.

Marion won the team title over Hillsboro by six strokes. Also competing for Marion were Jake Bredemeier (92), Landon Leiker (95), Olle Gemfors (101) and Lindsay Hett (115).

Also competing for Hillsboro were Gavin Serene (99), Jake Kenney (99), Jared King (106) and Daniel Dick (107).

Coming?The Trojans were scheduled to compete at Hesston on Tuesday, then will join Marion for the Marion County Invitational on Friday. Teams will play 18 holes on both the Hillsboro and Marion courses. Tee-off is scheduled for 8 a.m.
