Heidebrecht plays in all-star game

Marion’s Peyton Heidebrecht played in the Kansas Association of Baseball Coaches Senior All-Star Game Wednesday at Kansas State’s Tointon Family Stadium. A member of the yellow team, Heidebrecht had two plate appearances, striking out on a full count and later being hit by a pitch. The orange team defeated the yellow team, 5-4. The game lasted 10 innings to accommodate the large rosters for each team. In his senior campaign in 2017, Heidebrecht batted .431 (31-for-72), including 10 doubles and two triples. He drove in 35 runs. The son of Scott and Rolana Heidebrecht, he is currently working in Emporia and would like to attend the police academy in the future.
