Goessel?s Hiebert to compete in all-star game

Goessel High School senior Brian Hiebert has been selected to compete in the Kansas Eight Man Football Association Division 2 All-Star game June 7 at Trojan Stadium in Beloit.

The 6-foot, 3-inch, 200-pound lineman helped anchor the 2-7 Bluebirds on both sides of the ball last season.

?Brian was a great leader on and off the field for our football team this past season,? coach Garrett Hiebert said. ?I could always count on him to give great effort regardless of the situation.

?It?s great to see that Brian?s hard work and attitude is being recognized by other coaches around the state. It will be a privilege for Brian to play with and against some of the best eight man football players in Kansas during the all-star game.?

Zach Showalter, a 5-9, 195-pound senior end/defensive lineman, has been chosen as an alternate.
