The Marion cross country team had five runners medal at the Heart of America League meet Thursday at Remington.
Placing third with a team score of 63, the boys placed four runners in the top 15.
Bennington won the meet, Remington was second.
The top finisher for Marion was Jordan Hett, who placed third in 18 mnutes, 8 seconds.
Patrick McCarty placed sixth in 18:45, Michael Kirkpatrick 12th in 19:18 and Jacob Cope 14th in 19:39.
?Overall, I was really pleased with the way the guys? team performed, I couldn?t have asked them to do any better,? said coach Bethany Carlson.
?Jordan once again had a great race leading the guys? team. Patrick McCarty ran well. He started his kick sooner and was able to finish before a couple runners he was behind last week. Michael ran a steady race, he is able to hold on and finish toward the top. Jacob Cope continues to run well.?
For the girls, Elizabeth Goentzel placed fourth in 18:11.
?Elizabeth Goentzel had a great race,? Carlson said.
?Her hard work during practice propelled her to her highest placing this season. She ran a strong and smooth race.?
Coming?Marion participates in regionals Saturday at the Cessna Activity Center in Wichita.
