First-year Marion High School softball coach Sandy Black will have an intriguing group of freshmen to complement a deep group of upperclassmen coming off a 7-13 season in 2006. ?I would rather focus on this year and the good group of athletic girls I have out,? Black said. ?Each and every girl will be an important part of the team and play an important role in helping us to be successful. I do not want to single out any of my girls, we are a team and we are all very talented.? The squad will open its season at home against Smoky Valley on Tuesday, April 3.
