Ediger paces HHS golf

Two members of the Hillsboro High School golf team competed Friday in a nine-hole junior varsity invitational on their home course.

Philip Ediger shot a 47, which put him in a three-way tie for fourth place among 42 golfers, but the junior lost on a scorecard play-off to finish sixth.

?After Philip finally broke into the 90s a week ago, he is starting to play with more confidence and is starting to strike the ball much more consistently,? coach Scott O?Hare said.

Freshman Alex Dalke shot a 52 and was in a three-way tie for 10th, but also lost on scorecard play-off holes to finish 12th.

?This was Alex?s low nine-hole score of the season, and I hope to see him build on this and begin to play with more confidence and mental toughness,? O?Hare said.

Coming? The Trojans were to return to varsity play this week with a tournament planned for Halstead Tuesday and the 36-hole Marion County Invitational hosted by Hillsboro and Marion Friday.
