CHS golfers take 2nd at Circle

Behind top-10 individual placings by Adam Matz, Tyler Klenda and Jacob Jennings, the Centre High School golf team placed second out of 11 teams at Remington Thursday.

Matz?s round of 82 was good for fifth place, while both Klenda and Jennings shot 86, with tie-breakers setting Klenda ninth and Jennings tenth in a field that included 11 teams.

Heath Hill shot a 97, giving the Cougars a four-man total of 351, 11 strokes behind first place Circle and three strokes ahead of third place Sedgwick.

Peabody-Burns posted a four-man total of 359, putting the Warriors in fourth, two shots ahead of Clearwater?s 361.

Peabody-Burns? individual results were not submitted to the Free Press.

Peabody-Burns attended the Chase County Invitational Tuesday. The Cougars attended Saint Mary?s Invitational Tuesday and visit Council Grove Thursday.

Centre and PBHS both visit Marion on May 5.
