while Storm Pickens represented Peabody-Burns on the West team in the Division I game.
Three athletes representing two area high schools competed in the 8 Man All Star football games played Saturday in Beloit.
The East team, which included Casey Kristek and Rustyn Kerbs of Centre, defeated the West team, 74-30, in the Division II morning game.
Meanwhile, Storm Pickens of Peabody-Burns was a member of the West team that beat the East team, 26-12, in the afternoon Division I game.
Kristek of Lincolnville and Kerbs of Tampa had strong senior seasons for the Cougars, who were the regional runners-up last fall with a 10-1 record after going 8-2 in 2009.
This past season, Kristek accumulated 131 tackles, six fumble recoveries, 53 carries for 310 yards and five catches for 98 yards.
His parents are Ron and Anna Kristek, and he plans to attend Manhattan Area Techni?cal School.
This past season, Kerbs was an all-league selection in the inaugural year of the Wheat State League, a KPRES all-district running back, safety and return specialist, and All 8 Man honorable mention.
On defense in 2010 he had 64 assisted tackles, 50 unassisted tackles, two fumble recoveries and six interceptions. On offense he had 72 carries for 617 yards, 18 passes caught for 438 yards. He ran for 10 touchdowns and caught eight scoring passes.
Kerb?s parents are Russ and Julie Kerbs of Tampa.
Pickens was selected as a first team all-league running back in the Wheat State League this fall.
In 2010 Peabody-Burns made its first playoff appearance since 2007. Pickens and his senior teammates helped turn the program around, winning six games after going 0-16 the previous two years.
Pickens, who plans to attend college, is the son of Lori and David Pickens.
