Canton-Galva baseball finishes week 4-0

A road doubleheader turned into a home event Friday as Canton-Galva swept Lincoln completing a 4-0 week. The Eagles won the first game 14-2 and the second 9-7.

Canton Galva swept Little River in Galva, 3-2 and 18-3, on Tuesday.

Taylor Koehn picked up the pitching victory in the second game Friday, allowing two hits. Brett Williams had a home run, single and four RBIs. Codey Johnson finished with a double, single and four RBIs. Taylor Myers ripped a single and double, striking out seven.

Canton-Galva?s two victories over Little River came in different ways.

Game 1 was a pitching duel, with both pitchers earning a complete game. Johnson went the distance in game one Tuesday, allowing five hits over nine innings and striking out 17.

Canton-Galva won the game when Little River pitcher Skylar Hill walked in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh.

Hill gave up a base hit to Nick Vogts, intentionally walked Myers, then walked Johnson for the game-winner.

In Game 2, the Eagles blew out Little River. John Shearer finished with a triple, single and three RBIs. Baldwin hit a double and a single. Nathan Bray and Nick Vogts each had a pair of singles.
