Bluebirds top Little River

The Goessel High School boys basketball team thumped Little River 56-24 Friday.

The Bluebirds limited the Indians to six points in the first half and ran their own offense through the post, with Kendall Voth, Austin Unruh and Weston Hiebert combining for 11 in the first frame. Hiebert’s ?and-1? layup helped set the tone for a second quarter that saw Goessel’s offense in full array.

Craig Banman, Niko Herman, Unruh, Voth and Aaron Reimer scored, and the GHS defense allowed only one basket in the period. Unruh’s 14 points were the game high, and Goessel had eight players with one or more field goals.

Coming?Goessel (8-5) hosted Berean Academy Tuesday, and hosts Inman Friday. Beginning with a visit to Moundridge Tuesday, the Bluebirds face a five game road trip to end the regular season.
