The Cougars defeated St. Xavier (25-21, 25-11) and Sunrise Christian (25-14, 19-25, 25-20) Sept. 30 in Wichita.
Against Xavier, Centre got the best of 20 rally points, as Leann Pankratz put away eight kills.
Against Sunrise, Centre leaned on Brooke Burns for eight kills, and benefitted from five aces by Shelby Deines.
The wins improved Centre?s record to 8-12 for the year.
Up next, a scheduling change has the Cougars visiting Solomon for the Eisenhower League Tournament on Saturday. The event had been slated to be played at Wakefield, but was relocated because a scheduling quirk also has the league basketball tournament slated to be played at Wakefield.
Play begins at 9 a.m.
Goessel
The Bluebirds swept a triangular Tuesday night at Berean, defeating Peabody (25-21, 25-22) and Berean (25-11, 25-13) to improve to 7-2 in league play.
Goessel (21-6 overall) was led by three Bluebird players at 100% serving for the night: Kristin Unruh, Aspen Frey, and Karina Harvey.
Jessica Goertzen contributed 33 assists while Karis Janzen led in kills (16) and blocks (9).
Rinda Duerksen was close behind in both scoring categories, with 12 kills and 8 blocks.
Karina Harvey had another outstanding night defensively with 23 digs.
Goessel sewed up league play Tuesday at Little River with Sedgwick. The Bluebirds play at Remington Thursday before the tournament season begins at Bennington Saturday.
