Area Track Roundup (April 28, 2010)

Goessel followed its boys? second and girls? first place place finish in the Goessel CKTL?meet on Tuesday, with a boys first place and girls? second place finish at Norwich Friday.

The Bluebird boys won the meet with a score of 106. Other top five finishers were Pretty Prairie (83), Skyline (72), Cunningham (52), Norwich (51) and Caldwell (49).

Sweeping the short distance running events, Goessel had three different spriters win gold.

Cameron Stultz won the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.32. John Berkholz took the 200 at 54.28 and Brian Unruh won the 200 with a time of 25.10.

Goessel also won the 4×400 meter relay with a time of 3:45.05 and the 4×800 relay at 11:03.9.

Placing second with a team score of 99, the Goessel girls had four first place finishes.

South Barber won the meet with a score of 111. Other top five finishers were Skyline (87), Cunningham (70) and Norwich (61.5).

Aspen Frey won the 1600 meter run at 6:04.51.

Karina Harvey won the 800 meter run with a time of 2:43.62.

Winning the 3200 meter run was Czarnowski at 13:38.93.

The Bluebirds also won the 4×400 relay at 4:38.62.

Peabody-Burns?Taking first place at Wichita Independent Tuesday , the Peabody-Burns track team nine first place finishes.

The Warriors won the meet with a team score of 112 points. Hesston was second with 94 points, followed by Wichita-Independent (71), Marion 28 and Haven (27).

Josh Klarman led Peabody-Burns wih two individual gold medals. Klarmann won the 160 meter run at 5:03.46 and the 800 meters at 2:11.46.

Aaron Topham took gold in the 3200 meter run with a time of 10:49.74.

Peabody-Burns also won the 4x 800 meter relay at 9:42.21.

In field events, Seth Topham grabbed gold in the high jump clearing 5-06.

Curtis Frederick won the tripla jump with a distance of 39-01.

The Peabody-Burns girls?s team finished fourth with 28 points.

Hesston won scoring 115 points. Wichita Independent (77) finished second, followed by Haven (40), and Marion (2).

Bethanny Loucks had Peabody-Burns only gold medals, finshing first in the high jump (4-06) and the triple jump (29-01).

Centre?Centre placed fifth in the boys competition and fourth in the girls competition at the Inman CKTL?Quint on Tuesday.

Scoring 44 points, Centre had one first place finish.

The top team finisher was Berean Academy with 127 points followed by Little River (60), Inamn (53) and Burrton (28). Theo Kassebaum took gold in he 100 meter hurdles with a time of 18 seconds.

The Cougar boys finished with a team score of 15.

Berean Academy won the meet with 173 points, followed by Inman (82), Little River (47) and Burrton (23).

Canton-Galva?The Eagle track teams finshed ninth in the boys meet and 10th in the girls? meet at the Sterling Invitational on Thursday.

The Eagle girls scored five points, the boys scored three.

Winning the meet was the Lyons boys and the Little River girls.
