Centre?The Centre girls defeated Elyria Christian on the road Tuesday, 51-30. Cacey Simons led the Cou?gars with a game-high 17 points. Shelby Makovec added 15.

The Centre boys defeated Elyria Tuesday, 69-34. Ty Simons led the Cougars with 17 points. Conner Mont?gom?ery added 16 and Dakota Stimpson 14.

The Cougars? games at Bennington Friday were rescheduled for Feb. 24 because of icy weather.

Their next scheduled games will be at home Jan. 7 against Peabody-Burns.

Goessel?The Bluebirds won a pair of road games Friday against swept Wake?field.

The Bluebird girls opened with a 48-20 victory. Goessel led 8-6 after the first quarter, but pulled away in the second quarter for a 25-8 halftime lead. The Bluebirds out?scored Wakefield 23-12 in the second half.

Alicen Meysing scored 17 points to lead Goessel. Page Hiebert added 11. With the win, Goessel improved to 3-2.

The Bluebird boys, meanwhile, defeated Wakefield, 44-38. Goessel led 30-17 at halftime. Although the home team outscored the Blue?birds 13-4 in the third quarter, Goessel held on to win.

Lawton Makovec led the team with 20 points. Ben Wiens added 12. With the win, Goessel improved to 3-2.

The Bluebirds will play at Solomon Jan. 10.

Peabody-Burns?The Warriors competed at Burr?ton Tuesday and at Berean Academy Friday.

The girls fell to Burrton, 43-32. Brianna Larsen led Peabody-Burns with 11 points.

The boys, meanwhile, defeated Burrton, 57-56. Burrton led 19-12 after the first quarter, and went on to stake a 32-18 halftime lead. But the Warriors outscored Burrton in the final two quarters to claim the victory.

Vince Newman and Braxton Kyle led the Warriors with 19 points apiece. Garret Schroeder added 10. Xavier Jabary grabbed 11 rebounds.

At Berean, the Peabody-Burns girls lost 46-15 to drop to 0-6 for the season. Larsen led the Warriors with six points.

The boys lost to Berean, 55-38. Peabody-Burns trailed only by one at halftime, 15-14. Berean used a 25-8 third quarter surge to separate themselves en route to the 17-point victory.

Jabary led Peabody-Burns with 12 points. Newman added 11. With the loss, the Warriors dropped to 2-4 overall.

The Warriors will return to action Jan. 7 when they travel to Centre.
